An awesome guy named Rob sent these photos from Flint, Michigan:

"I RECENTLY HAD TO MAKE A TURN AROUND TO GET MY STARBUCKS COFFEE ON BUSY MILLER ROAD IN FLINT AND DECIDED TO SNAP THESE PHOTOS WITH MY CELL PHONE. IT APPEARS SOMEONE HAS MADE HOME AT THE ONCE-BUSY ENTRANCE OF WHERE I USED TO WORK."

Do I spy BEDDING in there? Rad.

Keep posting these pictures, there is something fascinating about them.

I haven't set foot in a Chi-Chi's since I was 7 years old. It's almost a mythical place!

This is actualy one of the last Chi Chis I ever ate at. My kids and I loved Chi Chis, and this one in Flint is located along our travel route up to our summer home. I always used to whiz past it longingly, and finally one year we decided to stop halfway and spend the night at the fabulous Red Roof Inn at the same highway exit. It was nearly 10 when we got in, but we made a beeline for Chi Chis for a late dinner. We were one of only two or three tables that night and I remember thinking, "I bet this is about the end." About a month later, all of our Chi Chis back home in Ohio were closed. Wah!

I just discovered this blog. Keep 'em coming!

On business trips I regularily ate at the Beaver Creek Chi-Chi's where the Hep-A outbreak that eventually caused the bankrupcy of the chain broke out. Luckily I stopped going through Pennsylvania in 1993.

I used to work there (at the Miller Rd location).

Loved it there... Loved the food... Loved the people I used to work with...

I wish I could hook up with some of the folks now...

Sad!! I too worked in Canadian Head Office for 12 yrs and opened many many locations in US and abroad...they are still open in Luxemburg and Kuwait under the International Division...too far but boy do I miss the food :(

You mean to tell me Chi Chis still exists somewhere in the world? It would be worth a trip to Luxembourg....(Kuwait, not so much.) I keep hoping that someday, someone will attempt to revive it. It seems that a lot of people miss it. It astounds me that tainted onions at ONE location killed the entire chain. Remember all the little kids who died eating Jack In The Box? But that's still alive and kicking.

Chi Chi's looks to be a phenomenal establishment. Sad to say I have never had the honor of reading first hand the declaration of salsafication or hearing the beautiful birthday jingle they so brilliantly constructed. I have always went by it and now I regret not going!! Damn you Chi Chi's for closing!
