"you don't have to come to work today." if only, internet.

From my inbox. apparently, this one is in Altoona, PA:

Here's where I got my first job washing dishes. I worked there 5 years. left one night as the manager and got a message the next day , You don't have to come to work today. Unless you wanna get some extra hours helping pack up some stuff. I went and me and a lot of workers drained the margarita tank in kids cups with lids and straws. In the mean while the district manager didn't even know, LOL.

LOL indeed. Seriously, who wants to go get margaritas in sippy cups after work? I kind of do.

Believe it or not, there are several of us obsessing about the untimely death of Chi-Chi's! My sister was one of the first employees hired here locally, and the last to go. The door the building was torn down, many of the employees met in the parking lot to bemoan the loss. I was simply the photographer.

WOW - a blast from the past! I worked at Chi-Chi's in Altoona, Pa from the day they opened, until that fateful closing day. I was one of those people draining the marg tank! After the closing of the Altoona store, i continued with Chi-Chi's until February of 2000. I would LOVE to get ahold of the person that left the post about the Altoona location.. Can anyone help me? I no longer live in PA, and I'd love to contact whoever it is that posted that picture!

I worked at the Altoona Chi-chi's from 91-93? It was my first job and I worked there with my soon to be husband, Rob. After we got married, we moved to Monroeville and worked at that Chi-Chi's until we moved to Florida in 94. I miss the Cancun (seafood enchiladas). So delicious. I've tried to duplicate, not even close :-(

This is a longshot, but is there anyway you have evidence of where the location of chi chis was in Altoona?
